The Gracie Tabard is a sideless vest with a square neck, made almost entirely from the classic granny stripe stitch. It features rows worked vertically to produce a seamless transition from the inner body panel to the shoulder straps.

The granny stripe stitch is such a lovely meditative stitch, plus it produces a wonderful texture and effect especially when using plenty of colours. It produces a nice breezy fabric, so it makes a great layering piece for cooler days when you don’t want to commit to a jumper! I made mine in Hobbii Acacia (a cotton and acrylic mix, which I highly recommend) but this would work so well in any fibre.

Designed to fit bust sizes given as XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X): 76 (86, 97, 107, 117, 127, 137, 147, 158) cm requiring 550 (614, 631, 698, 732, 813, 873, 957, 988) metres of DK-weight yarn.

This pattern is available in both UK & US terminology so you don’t have to translate stitches!
