This subtle sock design is actually very clever. With a panel of twisted stitches down the outside of each foot, there’s plenty for you to get stuck into as you’re knitting.

When you’re working socks in a variegated yarn like this, afterthought heels are a great way to allow the colour changes to morph naturally, with the heel worked in one colour that doesn’t interrupt the flow of shades down the rest of the foot.
