This simple garter stitch baby blanket is the perfect quick and easy project. It is knit like a diamond - you start from the bottom and increase to the widest point, then you decrease to the top, resulting in a square blanket. We call this pattern a ‘recipe’ because this way of knitting can easily be improvised - you can knit the blanket as big or as small as you’d like by changing where you stop increasing. Knitting a blanket in this way gives you strong diagonal lines of colour, which results in a simple, modern blanket - we recommend choosing 5 colours of Cascade Superwash Merino in contrasting or coordinating colours, or 500g of worsted weight yarn.
