I used a cotton bamboo blended yarn just under 100g for a size medium and a 7mm hook.

Choice of yarn is yours - choice of hook also yours - but please note changing the weight and hook of the yarn may change the look of the stitches too.

As you can see from the photos I have used the exact same method and pattern for myself and for my young child.
