Grannies GO ROGUE
Once upon a time not all that long ago, I felt like crocheting something easy, fun & colourful. I thought maybe a granny square blanket, but I didn’t want too many colours or squares, just enough of both to keep things interesting & fun.
My goal was impact with simplicity, & as a result of having so much fun with this concept, I ended up designing & crocheting TWO blankets (see Grannies BLEND IN)
This design lets you play with TEN colours! ONE colour is common to all squares (allow 900 - 1000m total yarn length) & then used for seaming and working the edging. The other NINE colours - 1 per square, each require between 150 - 200m of total yarn length.
The squares are crocheted separately & seamed together, after which an easy scalloped edging is worked around the entire blanket.
Please note that there is one pattern document, written in UK TERMS with USA equivalents given, as follows.
dc: double crochet (= USA single crochet)
htr: half treble (= USA half double crochet)
tr: treble (= USA double crochet)
dtr: double treble (= USA treble crochet)
A bonus with this design is that when folded diagonally, it can also function as a large & super warm triangular shawl.
