These hanging ornaments are inspired by the classic crochet granny square, drawing on the familiar structure and technique but reimagined into new shapes with updated details. This pattern is available in both UK and US crochet terminology. Both files will be available for you on purchase and you can choose whichever you prefer to use.

You will need:

• 3 colours of yarn of your choice
• a blunt yarn needle
• sharp scissors

Made in 4ply (fingering, Category 2) weight yarn with a 3mm (US size C-2 or D-3) crochet hook, the ornaments will be approximately 9cm (3.5 inches) across. Made with a 4mm crochet hook (US size G-6) in DK (light worsted, Category 3) weight yarn, the ornaments are approximately 10-11cm (4-4.5inches) across.
