A festive vest built on granny-square motifs, your statement piece to pair perfectly with a long-sleeved blouse with pointy collar!

Elongate your figure with a stylish piece of garment - this romantic gilet is built on granny hexagons and features V-neck and a zig-zag waistline to bring out your silhouette. Give this vest a more vintage-y look by removing one round of hexagons along the waistline for a corset-like fitting, and pair it with a longer blouse or high-waist skirt. Granny squares brought to the next level with a combination of textured hexagons and pentagons with light openwork: an exquisite modernization of the traditional granny square!

Don’t let the intricate embossed motifs discourage you - this detailed size-inclusive, easy-to-follow pattern is packed with 30+ high-quality pictures, charts and tables, and comes with a comprehensive video tutorial to guide you through the creation process for sizes XS-XL, with tips and tricks to customize the fitting and adjust it to 2XL+. The instructions and all visual aids ensure a straightforward, engaging and satisfying crafting experience even if you are a crochet beginner.
The vest is built on hexagons joined together to form back and front panels, then collar and ribbing are worked directly on to the bodice.

The perfect winter look is just few stitches away!

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: intermediate
This pattern explains how to make the Manykò vest in size XS-XL, however, this is a very versatile pattern and can be easily adjusted to 2XL and above: you will just need to work more hexagons to form front and back panels, while collar and ribbing remain the same for all sizes.
There are two pattern variations (A and B), clearly indicated, which will require different hook size. Please refer to the size chart in the pattern to understand what’s needed for your desired size.
The vest is made starting from hexagonal motifs joined together to form front and back panels, which will be attached at the shoulders. Then we will work collar and ribbing.

YARN I USED
For this pattern I used double thread of Cloudborn Fibers, Highland Fingering, Ocean, 100% Fine Highland Wool, (100g/452m - 3.5oz/494 yds), colour 16-018 (emerald green). Note: you do not need to use a double threaded yarn, any dk/worsted yarn will do just fine.
I also used a contrasting degradé yarn for the seams, collar and ribbing, but you do not have to. For these details I chose a vintage Missoni – Capri yarn by Filatura di Crosa, 83% Wool, 12% Mohair, 5% Acrylics, (50g/85m – 1.75oz/95yds), colour 541
