Granny On The Beach Bag is made mostly in one piece with the solid granny square as the bag bottom and the granny ripple stitch used for the sides.

There are several full photo tutorials in the pattern to help you make this bag, and maybe even a project of your own using this technique: from how to begin and turn in the granny square to how to quickly make the tassels.

ABOUT THE PATTERN:

Skill Level: Easy. The pattern uses basic stitches, such as sc and dc, with a few rounds of FPdc and BPdc, all of which explained in the Special stitches Section.
Yarn: #4 medium worsted yarn made of cotton and acrylic. If you want to make your bag to be firmer, I suggest you use 100 % cotton yarn and a smaller hook.
Hook: 5.5 mm US I - 9
Gauge: 13 sts and 8 rows of the pattern = 10 cm / 4 in square
Finished Measurements: When laid flat, the bag is approximately 40 cm / 16” wide and 35 cm / 13.8” high. The Handle Drop is 35 cm / 14’ long, but it’s totally adjustable and could be very easily made to be shorter or longer by changing the number of chains.
Construction: Granny On The Beach Bag is worked bottom up, in rounds and rows.
