Welcome to learning your first granny square! This introduction is going to teach you one of crochet’s most cherished patterns - the traditional granny square!

You should have a general knowledge of how to chain, double crochet, magic loop, slip stitch and how to work in the round. I have included many photos and a link to videos for the magic loop. There are written instructions on how to do a chain, double crochet and slip stitch.

We are going to use a worsted yarn of your choice, and a 6.00 mm (J/10) hook. You may also use any kind of yarn that you wish, just make sure you use the appropriate hook size for you yarn choice. You can find this written on the skein of yarn itself.

I have included pictures/video links to help you. If you have any questions, please just ask! Don’t be shy! My email and social media contact is at the end of the pattern as well.
