Ah, the humble granny square! The beautiful, endless array of motifs, color combination, and projects that can be created with this basic yet timeless square of mulitcoloured goodness. Did you know the granny square dates all the way back to 1946 when thrifty woman would save up scraps of yarn and fibers from unraveled sweaters and socks. These scraps would be crocheted into colorful squares that good old Granny would stitch together, hence the name granny square!

There is something so pure and honest about keeping these skills alive, so without further delay I present to you the Granny Stripe Pillow! The same concept as the granny square, worked in a long round instead of around and around in a square. I am going to go over how to make a cover for any size pillow using up all those tiny left over bits and pieces of yarn. Grab a pillow and grab those scraps and lets get started!
