This Granny Square Stitch Waistcoat is made with joining granny squares for the top and then working the granny stitch for the waist down. A fun project for beginners! Easy Granny Square and easy construction!

Skill Level: Easy

Projects using yarn with basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.

Yarn:

Elle Family Knit DK - DK (11 wpi)

I used 8 x 50 gram balls

Materials:

50 gr each of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in
-Red
-Gold
-Light Brown
-Cognac
-Chocolate
-Stone
100 gr of double knitting/light worsted yarn, in beige
Size 4.00 mm hook
Size 6.00 mm hook
Optional - assortment of beads for cord
Size to fit: XL - XXL

Approx 45 inches - Shoulder to shoulder
To adjust for smaller sizes - use a smaller hook; thinner yarn OR reduce the amount of granny squares.
This waistcoat so easy to construct that is really easy to adjust the size.

I use US Crochet stitch terminology.
Due to the nature of this pattern – the yarn and hook used is only a suggestion and any substitute may be used.
Size of finished product will vary depending on yarn and also size of hook used.
