Graphic Infection:
n. origin unknown
1) A top-down, triangular shawl known to cause knitting needles to slip stitches, change colors, work stripes, and end with an eyelet (or not). The infection is highly contagious and may end in the patient becoming obsessed with graphic color combos and knitting many other graphic patterns and shawls.

SYMPTOMS: A uncontrollable urge to knit the next chart; the desire to pick color combos for the next shawl while knitting the current one; pausing to stroke one’s project, while whispering to oneself about their precious shawl…

The shawl’s name comes from the need for a graphic infection to spread, causing our hand-knits to be more dynamic and dramatic! So join the hoard of Graphically Infected Knitters and knit a shawl!

Sizes: Small, (Medium, Large, and X-Large); 5th Band Varient (falls between the Large and the X-Large size wise)

Pictured is the Medium, lightly blocked. It is 17 inches along the center line and has a 56 inch wingspan. Size all depends on the blocking, so bear in mind that the small can be bigger then the large, it all depends on how much you block the shawl.

Recommended yarn: 2 colors of fingering weight yarn or weight of choice, remembering that the yardage measurements below are for fingering weight yarns ONLY. So you may need more or less yardage depending on the weight, the tension, and knitter’s preference! If you choose to use a different weight of yarn, find the needle that gives you the fabric you like best. Gauge isn’t crucial for the project, just find whatever yarn/needle combination you like and use it.
