The gloves are knitted from the cuff up to the fingers,
with a thumb gusset.

The yarn is re-attached at the base of each finger.

The textured pattern starts from the cuff and then
goes up to the knuckles, partially continuing
into the ring & pinky fingers.

Yarn

~75 gr/ 2.6 oz or 200 m/ 220 yds (sport-weight yarn).

The sample was knit out of 1.5 balls of 100% cashmere from Prince Yarns. The gloves have now been warn for 3 years since pattern creation and are still going strong!

Needles: 3 mm/ US 2.5 (for cast-on), 3.5 mm/ US 4 (main) - or size needed to get gauge; you might need both DPN’s and circulars (if you prefer to knit the main part on magic loop).

Gauge: 24 sts by 32 rows per 1010 cm (44”) square on larger needles after blocking.

TECHNIQUES REQUIRED

  1. Italian cast-on with 2 setup rows (in the round)
  2. Slip Stitch Rib.
  3. Left- & right-leaning knit and purl decreases (k2tog, ssk, p2tog, ssp).
  4. Increases (lifted increases; 2 stitch increase - KYOK).
  5. Reading charted instructions.
