Pattern is written for BOTH an aran weight version and a worsted weight version, so see notes below on sizing and yardage for each

I don’t know about you guys, but what I need right now is a quick, simple knit with some super satisfying results.

Engaging enough to keep my mind and fingers occupied, but simple enough that I can follow along with a house full of distractions. This did the trick. And once I knit the first hat, my fingers wanted me to cast on for the second!

Both versions are written for the same stitch counts, but they vary in gauge, yardage and details - so read below and choose which might suit you best. (And maybe set aside yarn for the second one to begin with, because you may need that second hit too!)

Squishy yarn and gorgeous colors are featured here, written as either a fitted beanie with a folded brim or a more slouchy hat with a straight brim. In both, a simple ribbed cable creates a densely crossed fabric that really pops beautifully in BOTH the new aran-weight Seger and the new worsted-weight Stapleton yarn from Dapper Dye Works.

Hat stretches about 1-2”/2.5-5cm when worn, so if between sizes, I suggest choosing the smaller one.
