Gansey-style sweaters similar to this one have been worn by fisherfolk for hundreds of years. Densely knit and uniquely patterned, this sweater calls to mind images of the fishing line unspooling and the waves lapping on a gray and dreary day.

This unisex sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up. Sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round from the shoulder down. Stitch patterns are written and charted.
