An indication of expression and tempo in music, Grazioso is a directive to play smoothly. elegantly and gracefully. This lace scarf, wrap or stole with its flowing linear stitch pattern and structure is knit in one piece using a provisional cast on and is uniquely framed by picots on all sides. A deceptively easy knit, this pattern would make a great travel project for experienced knitters and a good lace project for adventurous beginners!

Difficulty: Despite its appearance this pattern is deceptively easy to knit. With the exception of the linear faggoting, patterning for this scarf is on RS rows only, and it contains simple increases and decreases. Because of its elegant simplicity, Grazioso is a great knit for both experienced lace knitters and adventurous beginners.

Construction: A provisional CO is used, the body is knit in one solid piece and is finished with a picot bind off. The provisional stitches are then picked back up from the CO edge to add the picot bind off here to complete the scarf.

Yarn: Dream In Color Jilly (440 yds per 100 gm skein) in the colorway Chili

Needles: This sample was knit on US size 6

Dimensions: 64 inches x 10 inches blocked

Yardage: Approximately 440 yds / 100 gm of fingering weight yarn

Gauge: 12 stitches and 17 rows = 2 inches

Sizes: Scarf Size. Please keep in mind: If you adjust the number of repeats (or the needle size) to
make this a bigger garment, this will affect the amount of yarn used.

Yardage Recommendations for a medium size shawl would be 675 yards of fingering weight yarn and 900 yards for a large size shawl.
