The Great, or Continental, Divide separates the two main watersheds in the United States.

Running along the ridges of the Rocky Mountains, rain that falls to the western side ends up in the Pacific Ocean, and rain that falls to the east will eventually end up in the Atlantic Ocean.

The peaks on this cowl represent the Rocky Mountains and that Divide. Wear the textured triangles in the front or off to one side.

This pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter who is comfortable with knitting in the round.

There is a matching Great Divide hat pattern.
