Whether you’re trekking through mountain trails or strolling through the village square, you’ll stay toasty in this lush merino wool cap. The Great Northern Hat comes in two charming styles: one adorned with a foldable brim and pompom, and another with a timeless classic brim.

The finished hat has a 16¾ (19¼, 21½)”/ 42.5 (49, 54.5) cm circumference and is 7¾ (8¾, 10)”/ 20 (22, 25)cm deep (when brim is turned up halfway for Folded Brim Version.) To fit with ~ 1½”/4cm negative ease.

Polka Dot Sheep Great Northern, Super Bulky Single Ply, 100% Merino wool, 89y/ 81m; 150g/ 5.3 oz.

For the Classic Brim Version, shown in Sawtooth, 1 (1, 2) skein(s); for the Folded Brim Version, shown in Tupelo Honey, 2 skeins.

US 15 (10mm) 16”/ 40cm circular and double pointed needles or needle size necessary to obtain gauge; US 11 (8mm) 16”/40cm circular needles, or 2mm smaller than gauge needle; stitch marker; extra large pompom maker (optional); tapestry needle.
