Emulating the painting for which it is named, this is a shawl/cowl hybrid that starts flat and ends by joining in the round. The cable pattern is easy to memorize allowing for a quick and easy knit.

Yarn: “The Knitting Artist” - Worsted. 218yds/skein
Or any worsted weight yarn. Looks great in solids or variegated.

Tools:
US Size 7 circular needles – 16 inches. (may use smaller cable for the beginning rows worked flat)
Stitch markers – At least 3 - one to mark beginning once you start in the round and 2 to mark the center stitches.
Recommended to have more to mark each pattern repeat.
Cable needle.

Size and Gauge:
Approx. 14.5 inches tall from tip to top, 18 inch circumference at the top. (although my test knitters made theirs bigger)
5 stitches and 7 rows/rounds = 1 inch, gauge not crucial unless you are worried about how much yarn you have.

Information:
Begins by working flat from the bottom up, increasing (via Knitted CO) 2 stitches each row. Once you reach the desired width, you join in the round to finish the piece.

Simple cabling, fully charted. No written cable instructions as of yet.

Pattern has been test knitted, but if you find any errors, do not hesitate to contact me.
