This garter stitch baby blanket or lap robe measures 25” by 26”. Stitches for the wider end of the blunted green triangle (more accurately a parallelogram) are cast on and then 2 stitches are decreased every 6 rows. The first stitch of each row is slipped purlwise with yarn in front. Stitches are picked up along the angled sides of the triangle; short rows complete the shaping and then end with 10 garter ridges. A simple crochet edge finishes the blanket.

The entire green skein and about 1.5 of the yellow yarn was used. So if you wanted to expand the blanket a little, you could do so without buying an extra skein.

Cascade Sarasota is a lovely yarn to use for a summer blanket or lap robe because it is so light and soft.
