Mini-skein kits are hard to resist – knitters want to gobble them up like candy. But what do you DO with them? This stylish and fun-to-knit shawl aims to solve that problem and specifies options for your choice of 4 to 6 colors. Because the stitch pattern counts are harmonized with the regular increases that make a crescent-shaped shawl, you never have to worry about counting your stitches! Furthermore, you can knit any size shawl you want – each section is based on an approximate percentage system, so you finish your shawl when you run out of yarn.

The sample was designed with a mini-skein set of four shades of gray in a gradient with a pop color of bright green for a total of 5 colors, all of equal weight and length. Of course, you can knit this shawl with any color combinations you want or even with leftovers. But what if you don’t have 5 colors? This pattern includes a handy chart to create a delightful shawl with anything from 4 to 6 colors. Because of changes in the number of colors, some sections may be narrower or wider than in the sample. However, the stitch counts should always work!

Important: This system presumes that each of your mini-skeins is of equal yardage.

Difficulty Level: Adventurous beginner: Skills include garter tab cast on, simple increases, slipped stitches, simple lace, short rows for bind-off, and weaving in ends.
