BEGINNER FRIENDLY! The Greenhorn Mountain Hat is a simple, classic looking hat that creates a beautiful hat that even the novice loom knitter will be proud to gift (or wear!) this Christmas. Because of its simplicity, the hat is quick to knit.

The hat is knit on any 5/8” gauge round loom, like Knitting Board’s Flexee chunky loom links or the Knifty Knitter round purple 48-peg loom. The hat uses 48 pegs connected to make a circle loom.

The pattern also give you the option of two different bind offs. If you are using the Knitting Board Flexee Chunky loom, the pattern gives instructions for a bind off that decreases the crown of the hat and removes links. If you are using a different 5/8” gauge loom without removeable links, the pattern gives instructions for my Modified Flat Drawstring Bind Off.

The Greenhorn Mountain Hat uses approximately approximately 110 yards of a bulky 5 weight – Burrow by Willow Yarns, a 75% acrylic 25% wool yarn, in the Almond colorway was used in the sample.

The pattern is suitable for a novice loom knitter.
