Pattern is written for Soft Donegal Tweed 3.8/1 (100g-380m/415 yards) or Mohair-Tweed 4/1 (100g-400m/437yards). Yarn is held double stranded throughout. Or you can use Soft Donegal Tweed 3.8/2 (100g-190m/207yards)
These yarn bloom a lot after washing and shrink - the pattern was written with specific yarn behavior (see attached photos)
Size:adult. Easy fit on 54-58 cm (21”-23”)

Gretta is variant of German name Greta and means “pearl”. Big fluffy pompom on top of the hat looks like a pearl.
On my native language word, “gretta” sounds conformable to word “to be warm”.
The hat was tasted in the coldest Canadian days (-30 and below) and showed the warmest results. But if you want total wind resistant hat I highly recommend to think about lining.
On the model:
Hat made with mohair-tweed. Colour “Oatmeal”
Pompom is on snipping button, that is very easy to remove for washing.
