A pair of kitties adorn this pattern - iow: one pattern two versions of.

A grey super-soft mohair kitten (I’ve called mine Hattie)
and
A mottled Calico/ tortoiseshell lady called Henrietta (Henri for short, named after famous fauve and amazing colour artist Matisse - I can just imagine her in one of his paintings!)

This cat/kitten is knitted to pose in a sitting position with forelegs joined to the breast (all knitted as one) and lying in front of the cat to rest in front of the belly.
In fact, apart from the ears - the whole cat’s sections are joined and stuffed as you go.

Worth a note:
The pattern with all the how-to photos in is the Grey Kitten - if you just want the Calico then may I suggest you print spreads 28-47

Both cats differ, apart from the colouration and yarn types, in height:
Kitten is 10 inches tall/ cat is two inches taller at 13 inches but due to the yarn I’ve knitted each in kitten is much finer and more delicate giving her that tiny, gentle kitten edge.

Gauge-wise - both the same amazingly, the yarn and needle choice for both rendered the stitch and row count to be the same on each!

What extra materials will you need -
Both take a size 18mm cat or teddy bear safety eye - try Suncatchercrafteyes.com for some beautiful hand painted cat one - or Etsy and Ebay for the more readily available brown ones.
Also - I use an un-carded toy filling, less lofty/ much more dense than the carded, regular fibre-fill. Again - try Ebay or teddy bear making supplies, I’ve also started to add colour marker guides in my pattern - just so we can compare which marker is which with ease… so some colour fit-in markers are a kind-of must.

And yarn - I choose, again, Garnstudio Drops yarn - it’s good value and beautiful quality is, I think, unmatched by anything else.
They do have a stockists’ list and also there are plenty of sellers on Etsy and Ebay who stock and ship globally.
