Grief Hearts are handmade hearts that are given out as a way to provide comfort for someone who is going through a period of loss. They serve as a memento for ones memory.

The pattern was developed by me for my schools crocheted club. We primarily pass them out to our local veterinarian office. The pattern is extremely simple, and examples shown are beginners who our club taught how to crochet.

I highly suggest adding a tag for 2 reasons

  1. You don’t have to weave in any ends
  2. They act as an explanation for what the heart is. Example tags can be found in the projects.

Cotton yarn of any weight can be used. Cotton yarn is highly suggested as it is more durable to the wear and tear of use. A hearty acrylic can be substituted, but it is not recommended.
