ERRATA:
on page 53, the Collar Increase Row states that it should be worked with a LLI first, then a RLI. It is instead an RLI first, and then a LLI to match the existing chevron pattern.

Sweater is worked from the bottom up. First, two side pieces are worked flat with increases at the center front and back to create the stitches needed for the chevrons, and then both are joined in the round. Sweater is then worked in the round to the underarm. Sleeves are worked in a similar manner, with a single chevron at the top of the sleeve. When sleeves and body are complete, yoke is worked as for a shallow raglan, and then the chevron for the sleeve is continued as a saddle up the shoulders. Neck shaping is worked in the front and stitches are cast on to create the other half of the overlapping shawl collar, both sides of which are shaped with increases during the yoke shaping. The collar continues around to join in the back with a series of decreases.
