Enjoy these leafy, lush boot-tops with three no-sew flowers! Pattern features written and charted stitch pattern, and 3 optional mix and match flowers. Not interested in boot cuffs? Just keep knitting, and end up with legwarmers.

The flowers are sized to fit the boot tops, but you can use them on anything. Think: pins, hair-ties, bags, hats, etc. Some were originally thought up as part of a knitted and felted flower arrangement. They’re designed to completely eliminate sewing. For me, sewing small things together is so fussy that I never actually finish making embellishments like this. So I have to outsmart myself. There are still ends to tuck in, but, hey, you can’t have everything…

Yarn: For the boot tops: I used Berroco Vintage in the color “Fennel”, less than 100yds/91m. Any light worsted yarn with good stitch definition will work.
For the flowers: I used scraps of Peace Fleece worsted in the colors “Mir-Atlantis Periwinkle”, “Wild Mustard”, and “Bagdhad Blue”; and Malabrigo Merino Worsted in the color “Roanoke”. Any worsted or aran weight scraps in flower-y colors will do.
Gauge: 5.5 sts/in (22 sts/4in, 22 sts/10cm) in stockinette stitch.
Needles: US size 4/3.5mm DPNs (set of 5 needles), or size needed to obtain gauge.
Size: One size. 10in/25.5cm around unstretched, 15in/38cm. around stretched out. Includes tips for resizing.
Notions: Optional (for mix-and-matching your flowers) you’ll need either safety pins or pin-backings, one for each of your flowers.
Skills: Cast on, cast off, knit in the round, knit, purl, increases, decreases, (extra skills for flowers: picking up stitches, I-cord)
