Mirrored lace socks, knit toe-up, featuring 2 toe options (short row or round toe), and extra-deep short row heels. The pattern stitch is interesting enough to hold your attention, but “rhythmic” enough to still be relaxing. While creating these socks, you may find yourself dreaming of ocean waves, sound waves, waves of change and exploration.
Pattern includes: full written instructions for 6 sizes, stitch pattern both written and charted, and customization options.

Yarn: Any smooth sock-weight yarn. Shown in: Lang “Super Soxx Nature 4-ply” (452 yds/413 m, 100 g/3.53 oz. in color “Sea Glass”. Total yardage will depend on length.

Gauge, in stockinette & pattern stitch: 8 sts/in (32sts/4in, 32sts/10cm). If your pattern stitch gauge is looser, you may need to go down a size for a good fit.
Stockinette row gauge: 10.5 rows per 1in/2.5cm (42 rows per 4in/10cm) for reference when starting the heel.
Notions & Needles: 2 stitch markers. DPNs in size needed to obtain gauge. I used US 1/ 2.25mm. Includes notes for 9” circulars or magic loop. Due to shifting decrease lines, t-a-a-t on circulars may be cumbersome, though not impossible (use spare DPN to move sts as needed).
Sizes: 6 sizes, by circumference: Select a size with at least 1.5in/4cm negative ease, as the lace pattern may stretch. 5in/13cm (40sts), 6in/15cm (48sts), 7in/18cm (56sts, shown), 8in/20cm (64sts), 9in/22.5cm (72sts), 10in/25.5cm (80 sts). See “customize” section for additional gauges/sizes.

Skills: Knit, purl, knit through back loop, YO increase, M1L and M1R increases, SSK and K2tog decreases, knit in the round, cast off. Wrap & turn short rows (can substitute preferred short row method), Judy’s magic cast on OR Turkish cast on.
Accessibility Notes: Charted & written instructions for pattern stitch provided on same page, 12 point san-serif font, no columns (except for abbreviation key), stitch counts/setup provided at key intervals throughout pattern.
