Size will vary depending on the tension and hook. Using a 4mm hook (as used for this pattern) will produce a beanie for approximately a 21-inch diameter head and will be a bit snug for those with larger heads or thicker hair; 4.5mm will produce something that is approximately an inch wider. The beanie will be stretchy.

The beanie is worked from top to bottom and back and forth in rows using the tapestry technique.
