This colorwork sweater by Kirsten Cowan was inspired by medieval paintings from Great Britain. In the Dark Ages, the gryphon (or griffon) was a fantastical half bird, half beast.

The intarsia gryphon motif on this artistic sweater is bordered by Fair Isle quatrefoils and stained-glass motifs.
