This double-sided scarf will help show your local Northeast Ohio pride, from the historic Guardians of Traffic monuments to the toothbrush light stanchions of Progressive Field!

This pattern uses the double knitting technique. For those new to double knitting, a brief description of the technique is included, along with suggestions for tutorials.

Other techniques: Invisible cast on for double knitting; Kitchener stitch bind off

Needles and Notions:
• Two US 6 circular needles, or three US 6 straight needles (The extra needle(s) will be needed to separate the stitches for the bind off.)
• Tapestry needle for Kitchener stitch and weaving in ends.
• Optional: A yarn thimble or similar notion used in colorwork to keep strands separated can be helpful, but is not necessary.

Yarn: Two colors in DK, approximately 510 yards of each color. (Sample uses Berroco Ultra Wool DK, 2 balls of Frost, and 2 balls of Maritime.) Total 1020 yards.

Gauge: 20 stitches & 28 rows in 4 inches/10cm in stockinette. (Gauge is less important here because this is not a fitted garment, but be aware that a different gauge could change the size of the finished scarf and the amount of yarn needed.)
