Once, the four realms of the world—the Nether, the World, the Dead, and the Wastes—were in perfect balance. Energy flowed through them and between them, completing circles as easily as a baby blinks. The balance preserved all the life in this place, and allowed each realm to prosper.

Then one day, a cruel Empress sunk her claws into the World and rose to power, unbalancing the four realms and casting aside those she deemed unnecessary. For a time, it seemed as if half the world’s soul would be lost—until a brave wanderer made the Wastes into a home, and began calling to those people who could help rebuild the balance and make it whole.

The Wastes, of course, tend to be cold. If you want to visit, it’s a good idea to take these—they’ll help to keep you warm.

The Guarding Tree Gloves are designed to be comfortable to wear with room to stretch, to fit a variety of hand sizes. A smooth sock-weight yarn in a solid colour would be your best option to help the cables pop, but the pattern would look excellent in a gradient or speckled yarn as well.

These were originally designed for a close friend who wanted something open that could be paired with other gloves depending on the weather. Feel free to mix and match! The loosely comfy fit means there should be enough room.
