Gudrun Sweater

Gudrun is our take on a classical, Faroese-inspired Nordic sweater with a modern approach to pattern and fit. The design is oversize, i.e. very loose-fitting, with a positive ease of approx. 15-20 cm / 6-8 inches. A short design with deep armholes and long sleeves.

Knit it in our favorite yarn, Önling No 1, which is perfect for Fair-Isle patterns and produces a wonderfully warm, soft and light sweater. The basic version is knitted in two strands of Önling No 12, with silk mohair added to the pattern. You can also knit it in Önling No 3, our heavy merino wool for at comfortable sweater with a beautiful defined pattern.

21 sts & 29 rows in stockinette st on needle size 4 ½ mm = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches
Please note! It is important that your gauge remains the same in both stockinette stitch and in the pattern. You may need to adjust your needle size in either to maintain the same gauge.

Procedure
The sweater is worked from the top down with raglan increases. To begin, the sweater is worked back and forth to form the neckline, then the piece is gathered, and the rest of the sweater is worked in the round. The piece is divided into body and sleeves, which are finished separately.
