Gulls is a worsted-weight sweater knit bottom-up in the round with a yoke neck and fold-over cowl neck. It was my Rhinebeck 2013 sweater, inspired by the speckled gulls of Long Point beach where I spent the last weekend of the summer.

I knit the 34” size. The instructions for the other sizes are pretty speculative. I used a calculator to come up with the additional stitch counts, however I only adapted the sweater’s width for these additional sizes, not the length, since the sweater relies so heavily on my gulls drawing. The colorwork technique I used was stranded knitting for the little gulls and intarsia for the large ones, which I think may have been a mistake. I ended up having to cut most of my floats because they showed through the navy fabric and kept the sweater from fitting comfortably over my hips. This could be due to my inexperience with colorwork, so please use whichever technique you think is best.
