These form fitting fingerless mitts feature gussets at the thumb joint to provide plenty of flexibility and comfort during wear.

The pattern is for a ladies average size mitt, but you can adjust the number of stitches cast on and the number of rows completed to increase or decrease the overall size of the mitts. Instructions for doing so are included in the pattern.

As you can tell by all the pictures, this is an addictive pattern! Once you get through the first pair and understand the process, the rest are a breeze, and you might find yourself wanting several pairs of them in different colors.

This pattern is written for 9mm bulky machines with or without a ribber (ribber is recommended though). Once you understand the sizing changes, however, you should be able to reproduce these on different gauge machines, like a mid-gauge, by increasing the amount of stitches and rows.

Skiils:

  • Casting on over waste yarn or cast on rag
  • Ribbing (either by machine or manually)
  • Increasing with the 3-prong transfer tools
  • Holding and rehanging stitches
  • Mattress stitch seaming
