Guza Shorts
The Guza (goo-zah) Shorts is an intermediate level knitting pattern for made-to-measure booty shorts. The finished product is a zero to 5cm(2in) negative ease garment that is crafted to fit you personally, so you will need to take measurements of your body and your swatch to knit this pattern. It includes shaping options to achieve the perfect fit over your hips and booty, with a mixture of short rows and increases. The pattern explains how to execute all necessary finishings, including sewing in an optional elastic waistband and weaving in all ends.
I recommend using light fingering to sport weight yarn with some nylon content to ensure a lightweight and stretchy finished garment, however, you can use any yarn due to the made-to-measure nature of this pattern. Please note that 100% cotton or other plant-based fibres are not recommended, as they will likely stretch out over time and not maintain the original look.
The shorts are made with two colour stripes in mind, but you can make the pattern with as much or as little colour variation as desired!
I would be overjoyed to see your version of the Guza Shorts, so please feel free to send through pictures of your finished objects to my email, lutkoknits@gmail.com, post on Instagram with the hashtag #guzashorts and tag me, @lutkoknits, or post on the Ravelry project page! You can also reach out for any pattern support via email, and I will endeavour to respond to all queries in a timely manner.
Upon downloading this pattern, you will receive a document containing the instructions for measurements, pattern information, and link to the web app. You then input your measurements to the web app and download the pattern, save it as a PDF or print, and start knitting!
Now for the pattern specs!
