CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN
This statement sweater is worked top down with a seamless circular yoke and a pretty mesh lace design. This cropped sweater has waist shaping and is designed to be fitted in the shoulder and body for a flattering fit while the bishop sleeves give a soft and feminine look to this modern take on a vintage silouhette. The bishop sleeves are shaped without increases but rather use needle sizes to increase the width of the lower sleeve, this results in the fabric of the lower sleeve being looser and drapier than the rest of the sweater for a light and airy sleeve that billows beautifully around the hand.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS
Note: when choosing a size we recommend using a high bust measurement and looking for about 2” of positive ease.
Model has a high bust measurement of 38” and a full bust measurement of 42” and wears a size 40”
Please see Schematic included in the photos for finished measurements.

GAUGE
4”x4” square stockinette stitch = 22.5 stitches x 34 rows after blocking using US4 (3.5mm) needles

MATERIALS
Fingering (4ply) held double with Lace (2ply)
OR
Sports weight (5ply) yarn
Approx:
1155 (1243, 1353, 1507, 1628) 1771, 1875, 2206, 2420 yards
1056 (1136, 1237, 1378, 1488) 1619, 1714, 2017, 2212m

Sample used:
Knitcraft and Knittery Merino Fingering in Hazelnut Gelato
Wagtail Yarns 100% Mohair 2ply in Rosy Brown
Held double throughout

For the sample I used a fingering held double with a lace mohair, for a simpler and more cost effective option you can also use a sport weight.
When substituting yarn I recommend using a light and drapey yarn, a blend of wool and mohair is ideal or alpaca would also work beautifully.
