Needles

• 4.5mm (US 7) straight or circular needles

Gauge

• 20 sts and 34 rows measure 10 x 10cm (4 x 4in) over stockinette (stocking) stitch, after blocking
• Swatch to determine the needle size that achieves the correct gauge

Construction

• The shawl is knit flat using different increases at the edge of each row to create a true crescent shape
• The shawl starts with a garter tab which flows into garter edging
• The pattern features four stitch patterns: Seed Stitch, Estonian Braids, Stockinette (Stocking) Stitch, and Drop Stitch.
• You can increase/decrease the size of the shawl by repeating or skipping some of the stripes. Make sure to stop after completing a seed-stitch stripe to prevent the bind-off (cast off) edge from curling.
