Earlier this year I was asked by the Executive Director of N.A.M.I for Sacramento to lead How to Knit classes for our Peer Groups, this Pattern was drawn up when they asked if I could teach clients how to make hats for the Homeless Swag Bags we give out locally each year. I have come up with two sizes Adult (Small/Large), both use a beginner friendly cast on, knit/purl pattern, decreases and can be adjusted for depth to create a skull cap version or slouchy beanie version. The purchase of this pattern will not only benefit N.A.M.I (National Alliance on Mental Illness) nationally via a percentage of each sale going directly to them with each purchase, but you’ll also have a pattern that you can create a hat with others locally for your own Homeless Swag Bags, lastly you have an adjustable hat for yourself that is a great Mindful Movement knitting experience full circle.
