Did you ever wonder what it’s like on the underside?

Grab your worsted weight yarn and your crochet hook, little songbirds, and make your own King of the Mine. There’s something so satisfying about a cuddly version of the Lord of the Underworld!

This pattern is worked in pieces in the round, and then sewn together at the end.

I used Knit Picks Brava, as it’s a lovely soft acrylic that comes in vibrant colors. I also used a bit of Red Heart Super Saver for the gold trim and embroidery, because that was what I had on hand in the right color. Most worsted weight would work fine. You could also use a different weight and adjust your hook sizes accordingly.

Adventurous beginner (You can do it! Trust me!)

Skills used include magic ring, chain stitch, single crochet, single crochet two together (sc2tog), back loops only (blo), changing colors, whipstitch, and simple embroidery.

I used less than one skein each of in Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Black OR Asphalt, White, and Dove Heather, as well as a bit of Red Heart Super Saver in Buff
.
Also needed:
-1 removable stitch marker OR safety pin for marking start of round
-yarn needle
-6mm safety eyes
-small amounts of poly stuffing

Gauge is not crucial to this project. You’ll just want to be sure that your stitches are tight enough that the stuffing won’t show through.

Finished doll is about 3.5 inches tall.
