Hady, the Hippo Amigurumi with a bikini suit, is about 11.5″ tall in standing pose and about 9″ tall when it is sitting down, crochet from DK lightweight acrylic yarn by using 2.5mm hook. It is a great size as a huggable softie, hence, it is absolutely lovely to make for children as a gift.

Polyester fiberfill
10mm Dome-Button Eye, 1 pair

Abbreviations
ch: chain
sc: single crochet
inc: 2sc incresase
inv dec: invisible decrease
2sctog: 2sc together (normal decreasing stitch)
dc: double crochet

Instructions
Crochet all parts by following the crochet patterns stated below.
Stuff the parts as instructed
For head, sew dome-button eyes at Round 24, 18 sts apart. Followed by the ears to the head, about 8 rounds behind the eyes.
Then, sew teeth to the wide muzzle of the hippo, at 3rd rounds to the bottom, 4th rounds to the side. Followed by sewing the lip line and the nostril.
Sew body to the head followed by sewing arms, feet and tail to the body to complete the hippo amigurumi.
