This is “Haileyville Hat,” a crochet pattern. What you really want in a hat is warmth, so this one is long enough to cover your ears, and only has a bit of openwork detail for visual interest.

The hat needs just 55 g of yarn, so you’ll only need one skein, however, I’ll have a matching cowl pattern out very soon, so you’ll probably want to get two skeins.
