Not enough yarn for a whole sweater? A colour that you love but does not suit you well? – just move it to the back!
Be creative! Use two colours, or two yarns of different texture, work the sleeves with more or less stripes (choosing from 3 pattern-options) – and have fun!

A-Line and a longer back will provide a flattering shape.
The Half-Half sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down with set in sleeves which are worked from the top down as well. This gives you the opportunity to try it on and adapt to your personal preferences.

Construction details:
The back is worked in first colour, starting with a few short rows to shape the shoulders and neckline. Armholes are worked with lateral increases, here you can easily adapt to your measurements (for in-between-sizes, start with smaller size). Work down to desired length, finishing with a few short rows to create a flattering longer bottom.
Stitches are picked up at the shoulders and the front is worked in contrasting colour. The sides are joined as you go in a very unique technique, no seaming is necessary.
Then, stitches are picked up along the armholes and the sleeve caps are shaped with short rows. Work to desired length and add a stripe-pattern, if you like.
To finish, neckline and hem are worked in contrasting colour.
Work with two colours or with two yarns of same gauge but different texture.

Material
Any yarn suitable for specified gauge - (jedes Garn das auf die Maschenprobe passt)
(DK weight with approximately 100-110m/110-120y/50g)
Estimated yardage (Verbrauch ca.): 1015-1085-1200-1315-1430-1545m / 1115-1195-1320-1445-1575-1700 y
Thereof (davon je Farbe:) 510-545-600-660-715-775 m / 560-600-660-725-790-850 y each colour
Sample was knitted in DROPS Alpaca which is a fingering weight yarn (165m/50g) but suitable for knitting at a looser gauge. It results in a nice drape and needs less yarn (1000m/1100y in total for size M). Any Alpaca yarn of good quality will be a substitute. For Summer, a linen blend would be a very good choice.

Differences in gauge and yarn choice may affect the amount of yardage used.
4mm/US 6 or size needed for gauge: 80-100cm/32-40” circular and dpn’s (optional); stitch markers, tapestry needle
