HALLANVAARA - WHEN FROST FALLS

This triangular shawlette is worked from one tip to another. Its width is increased with shaping towards the centre, after which it is gradually decreased to form the second point. The size of the shawlette is easy to adjust: if you have more yarn, you can repeat the pattern repeat in the centre of the shawl (Chart 3) if you wish. If you have less yarn, you can skip this section entirely and proceed straight to the decreases. This allows you to adjust the size of the shawl halfway through, tailoring it to the amount of yarn you have available.
The textured pattern is formed by two alternating cable motifs that flow across the fabric, creating a lively yet serene surface that invites both the eye and the touch. Fingering-weight wool held together with a strand of fine mohair creates a fabric that is light, airy and soft, while allowing the cables to stand out beautifully.

Fingering weight wool or wool blend yarn 437 yds / 400 m and lace weight yarn 437 yds / 400 m, yarns are held together. Or 437 yds / 400 m DK or worsted weight yarn.

Grey sample: one skein Säie Merino Sock (75 % superwash merino wool, 25 % nylon, 465 yds / 425 m per 100 g) and one skein Säie Silk mohair (64 % kid mohair, 36 % silk, 459 yds / 420 m per 50 g), both in colorway Frosty Meadow.

Pink sample: one skein Freija Yarn Alpaca Silk Cashmere yarn 437 yds / 400 m per 100 g shown in colorway Dusty Pink and two balls of Majo Garn Pearl Mohair yarn 230 yds / 210 m per 100 g, shown in colorway 203 Rose.

HALLANVAARA HUIVI

Kolmikulmaisen huivin neulominen aloitetaan toisesta terävästä kärjestä. Huivin leveyttä kasvatetaan lisäyksillä puoliväliin, jonka jälkeen sitä kavennetaan toiseen kärkeen. Huivin kokoa on helppo muokata: jos sinulla on enemmän lankaa, voit halutessasi neuloa huivin keskikohdan mallikerran (kaavio 3) uudelleen. Jos lankaa on vähemmän, voit jättää sen kokonaan neulomatta ennen kavennuksia. Näin voit muokata huivin kokoa sen puolivälissä juuri sopivaksi käyttämäsi lankamäärän mukaan.
Pintaneule muodostuu kahdesta toisiaan rytmittävästä palmikkokuviosta, jotka muodostavat elävän, mutta rauhallisen pinnan. Fingering-vahvuinen lanka yhdessä ohuen mohairlangan kanssa tekee neuleesta kevyen, ilmavan ja pehmeän samalla, kun palmikot erottuvat selkeästi.
Huivi on suunniteltu jokapäiväiseen käyttöön arjen kaunistukseksi. Sen koko on juuri sopivan reilu kiedottavaksi kaulan ympärille tai suojaksi pään yli viileinä päivinä. Huivi yhdistää klassiset palmikot moderniin, selkeään muotokieleen. Neuleessa tekstuuri saa loistaa yksinkertaisen siluetin ansiosta – lopputuloksena on ajaton, pitkäikäinen asuste, joka ilahduttaa vuodesta toiseen.

PUIKOT
● 4 mm pyöröpuikot vähintään 60 cm:n kaapelilla.

TIHEYS
● 28 s ja 30 krs = 10 x 10 cm palmikkoneuletta viimeistelyn jälkeen.
● Tee aina mallitilkku ja viimeisele se (höyrytys tai kastelu ja kuivaus) ennen tiheyden mittaamista. Tiheys vaikuttaa langan menekkiin: jos käsialasi on löysempää, lankaa kuluu enemmän. Myös langan laatu vaikuttaa sen menekkiin. Muuta puikkokokoa tarvittaessa, jotta saat ohjeen tiheyden.
