You can make this Halloween Hair with or without the curls. The hat is knitted from side to side instead of bottom to top. It is not a difficult pattern but it does have a lot of short rows. German short rows are used. If adding curls, there are a lot of stitches to pick up and BO, and it is quite time consuming.

This one size fits most adult heads. If you wish to make a smaller size use finer yarn and smaller needles. For a larger size, use thicker yarn and bigger needles. A larger size will require more yarn.

You can shorten or lengthen this hat very easily. Each 6 sts represents about an inch of length, so make changes accordingly when you cast on, then, when following the pattern, ignore the instructions with stitch numbers and use the end of row numbers instead.

There is really no RS and WS for this hat. You can choose which side you prefer as the RS. In this pattern, the larger purl ridges are referred to as the RS.

DK weight yarn. The yarn used in the samples are Ice Yarns Madonna and Ice Yarns Primadonna.
You will need 65g/213 yds/195 m for the basic hat and 132g/ 433 yds/ 396 m for the curly version.
