Hanakotoba is a Japanese word that can be translated as “the language of flowers”: what each type of flower expresses, both for its traditional symbolism and for what we want to tell when we create a bouquet with them… or a pair of socks, a sweater…

Hanakotoba socks is a classic cuff to toe sock pattern, with a reinforced heel-flap and short row heel turn.
The pattern differs for the right and left leg. Follow the instructions for both legs, unless otherwise stated.
A photo tutorial for Dutch heel and toe is provided in the pattern.
Please, note the colorwork is charted only. The colorwork requires a bit of attention. There are several rounds where 3 colors are worked at the same time. In order to simplify the colorwork technique, as a suggestion, the pattern provides a photo and video tutorial for Duplicate stitch embroidery.
