This knit holder is knit to fit a ~0.8L (26oz) metal water bottle measuring 28cm in height x 8.5cm in width. The holder itself should fit snugly and will stretch over time - if adapting the pattern for alternate water bottle sizes, aim to knit a holder measuring slightly less than the measurements of your bottle.

The holder is knit in the round from the bottom up. Stitches are bound off to form one end of the strap, which is then knit flat in garter and knit together with the other side of the top of the holder to form a complete strap. The bottom of the bag is then picked up and decreased to form a base to hold the water bottle.
