The Hanging Egg Shaped Basket is a version of a teardrop basket that functions in many areas of the house. I initially designed it for an Easter Basket for my grandkids. After all the Easter goodies were gone, it’s been a good organizer to hang on their bed post to hold all their ‘stuff’…phones, glasses, mp3 players, and books at their bedside as the odd toy still fills up their nightstands.

Besides for the kids, these crocheted baskets are a great way to organize clutter anywhere in the house. Just think of all the things we collect at the door alone…keys, sunglasses, mail, dog leashes, masks, hats, mitts, scarves…the list goes on and on.

The design is offered in three different weights of yarn (#10 thread, #4, #5) and done in 4 different designs. The basic pattern is the same and is modified by the yarn weight or colour choices, except for the animal variations which have some extra details that are included in the pattern. There are lots of choices for you to personalize your Hanging Egg Shaped Basket.

There are two different sizes. The basic pattern makes up about the same size regardless of the yarn weight, while the #10 cotton is miniature size. This pattern is a good stash buster too as you can combine different yarn weights together.

The pattern has easy to follow instructions along with picture tutorial and charts.
