The wool for this sock is designed to be hand spun using a worsted prep and spin, which makes this sock quite long wearing. The
snug footlet shaping is perfect for keeping your feet warm
without being too bulky while wheel spinning, and the
decorative firm ribbing in the cuff gives this simple sock
an elegant touch and keeps the sock from sliding off the
foot while treadling. You can adjust the length of the cuff
as you desire by knitting the ribbing to a longer length,
although then you may want to make the cuff a bit wider
for a more comfortable fit (see Pattern Notes on pattern in “Yarn Works” book). If desired, a simpler k2, p1 rib will substitute for the more complicated cuff ribbing.
