Hanseatic Sweater
ABOUT
This is another design that is a tribute to my hometown. The bouclé colourwork pattern features a repeat of the letters HH, which is Hamburg’s municipal code and often used to represent the city (similar to NY for New York or LA for Los Angeles).
The first H stands for Hanseatic City, while the second H stands for Hamburg.
The casual, submarine-style neckline is comfortable and easy to wear, whether next to bare skin or layered over a collared shirt. The shaped neckband adds structure, ensuring a great fit that keeps the shoulders nicely covered.
Fun fact:
Hamburg’s harbour has a floating submarine that’s now a museum you can visit!
Description
Hanseatic Sweater is an oversized, slightly cropped, elegant piece crafted from the finest yarns. The bouclé lace creates a fabric that is both lightweight and soft, with a voluminous texture. This sweater feels as though it floats weightlessly around the body, especially when worn directly against the skin.
Fit
Hanseatic Sweater has an oversized fit with a slightly dropped shoulder to be worn with about 15 - 25 cm / 6 - 9.8″ of positive ease. The length of body and sleeves can be adjusted individually (keep in mind that the amount of yarn will change).
Techniques
The sweater is knitted top down in rounds and worked seamlessly in stockinette stitch, Japanese short rows and a layered colourwork.
